My perfect summer sandals

Since the end of last week when the BlOGGER login issues forced me to use Firefox which proved somewhat painful, I've been totally lazing off the blog over the last few days and I feel guilty for it. Truth is I'm a lazy person by nature (guilty as charged) and it's no good for me to take a break from something that is not my job (as in smth I'm being paid for) since it does no good for my motivation. But again - it's all BLOGGER's fault!
Anyways, now that I'm officially back into action, I will try to make extra effort bringing in some cool content and I'll start by showing off my new shoes! I've been looking for new sandals for some time now, and when I stumbled upon this pair at OYSHO last week at ATHENS MALL - it was love at first sight.

Here are several reasons why the shoes are perfect: they are wedges (exactly what I wanted), they are also clogs (which I also wanted), they are very medium height - which means I don't need to calculate exactly how much time I plan to spend on foot before putting them on, end - they were only 40 Euros, which means I can still get a new pair of flat sandals that I also really want without feeling like I'm spending too much.

To be honest I'm lusting over some block-color wedges too - I'm totally loving this trend, and who knows, I might just give in to it. But the classic brown leather goes with pretty much everything and until I can afford a giant wardrobe that some lucky ladies have - I'm gonna stick with practical approach to fashion.

Let the sunshine in

I decided to celebrate the departure of a very nasty cold (I suffered for over a week!) with a very relaxed and unpretentious outfit post. Another cause for "celebration" is my new hair - today I've finally cut it, and more importantly, dyed it a bright red which was once my signature hair color, but which I haven't worn for almost two years. I just felt a strong need to make some noticeable change to my appearance - so here it is...
As for the outfit, that's how I love to dress lately in this springy yet not too hot weather when going shopping in the neighbourhood or just taking a walk. The denim shirt is one of the more recent purchases of mine and is clearly going to be viral in my wardrobe all summer (I'm loving it!). This VOLCOM t-shirt, on the other hand, is already a few years old and it still remains among my favorites for its original cut and cool print.

This ALDO is about the same age as the tee, and it does look worn on the back side, but I still love its unique design and ginger brown leather.

These two bracelets are my most recent purchase. Since I have fallen for the multiple handmade bracelets trend, I decided to start my collection in SAMOS where I spent my vacation only two weeks ago. There, in a small shop I browsed among dozens of handmade bracelets until I picked out those two beauties made from leather, string, wood and metal.

Samos Diary: Finale

So here is my last post in Samos Diary series. Honestly I was too tired and relaxed to take pictures on the last day, so I give you some of the photos from Easter Sunday. Apparently as usual on this day, the city streets were deserted - as all residents were having festive barbecues with families and friends, which usually involve roasting a whole goat and other meats. We also followed the example of the locals and spent the afternoon on the sunlit terrace of my man's childhood friend's house on the mountain with him and his family, and ... the goat. I will leave out the picture of the actual animal (too scary), and instead offer you some highlights of the party which include me, posing in the cap that actually belongs to the master of the house, an improvised karaoke performance and a cat which appeared from somewhere, surely drawn by the smell of meat. Even though I like most cats, what I adore about this one is that he looks so unlike all the sweet furry creatures we're used to seeing - he's a proper "jungle" hunter, a real Bandit!

Samos Diary: Days 4-5

Sorry for no updates for several days - I'm on holidays after all so, as you can imagine, there is not always time to sit around and blog away. Besides, Easter is coming up and celebrations have already began (and Easter is seriously BIG here in Greece) so there are plenty of things to see and places to be. The last couple of days involved lots of slowly gorging on SAMOS food and alcohol in different tavernas in town, but we've also taken a walk up the mountain path, where a friend of ours likes to walk his lively dog. From the path opened a great view of breathtaking Samos' landscape with its combination of lush greenery, forests, mountains and clear blue sea as well as the view of Vathy bay (where we're currently staying) - Samos' capital and main port.

Samos Diary: Day 3

Despite high expectations, the weather in SAMOS hadn't improved much on Tuesday - on the contrary it became slightly colder. As result we didn't spend much time outside. Instead we drank Frappe (Greek cold coffee made of instant coffee whipped with sugar and mixed with water and ice), visited local football club (co-managed by a friend of ours) and spent several hours hanging out at a cafe where we first lunched and later had evening drinks with friends...

Stripes & leggings

As it gets warmer outside every day, it's gets harder to fight the inclination to wear lighter and lighter clothes when going outside. Thus I'm trying to find outfit compromises - such as wearing mini and pants at same time. So for me current weather in Athens is leggings time! Blazer and my comfiest flats compliment it just fine. I'm wearing a blazer by ZARA, a tunic from PROMOD,a bag from ACCESSORIZE, leggings by MANGO and shoes by PULL & BEAR.

Shorts' first day out

I got these shorts still in February at STRADIVARIUS - it was a great sales bargain, and I'm really a fan of shorts and I loved the pattern. It just so happened that they remained in the closet all this time! But the weather is great outside and just about time to take the shorts out for a walk.

New casual vintage bag

This is my latest find from YESTERDAY'S BREAD second hand store in Athens. It has a great many cool vintage items, among them - a whole pile of bags. I went through the latter a couple of times before I narrowed it down to four bags and, finally, to just one. It's in mint condition, genuine leather, the strap is adjustable, it's small - but no too small - in short, a perfect casual bag to carry all my basic necessities when doing shopping or taking walks around town. It also has no label on it anywhere, which is kind of cool - a bag of mysterious origins...

Walk out to spring!

So today was one of the first proper warm and sunny days in Athens this spring, and I decided to mark it with my first ever outfit post. I know it's totally amateurish - at least quality of photographs certainly is, and I still have a lot to learn. But we all have to start somewhere...

I'm wearing a PULL&BEAR jumper and shorts by OASIS (I love this British brand and it's a shame they don't have it here in Greece). Actually those shorts are one of most successful clothing purchases I ever made - I've had them a few years now and they are still perfect and "trending."

I got this pendant at a sale at PROMOD for some ridiculous price - it was a great find. People never stop asking me what is in the cage and trying to get a closer look.

Those CALZEDONIA tights were a real surprise to me. You see, as I bought them, only the pattern covering the leg part was visible on the packaging and I thought it was general pattern of the tights. I discovered those gorgeous stocking tops only after I opened the package several weeks later!

I got those shoes at ALDO (another brand I really miss here in Greece) while shopping for a pair of ballerina flats. But once I slid my feet in those, I decided it was fate - they were so comfy, I could barely feel the heel. Plus, the design was quite unusual despite the dull taupe color and price was reduced. Sold!
