STYLE OBSESSION: Bold nail polish colors

Bold and striking NAIL POLISH colors have been trending over the last few seasons, and they finally got to me too. I want my nails bright and colorful - no more neutral and transparent polishes for me! Color-blocking will be all the rage this summer, and dressing head to foot in blazing colors requires a certain mood and disposition, but you can always discreetly color-block with your nails.

This below is my current nail polish collection - I plan to add another blue tint to it - maybe electric or metallic, and probably green too - even though I never wear green and never was a fan of it before.

I've always been a fan of BIG bags. And not so much because of style, but because of the freedom it grants me to carry all things I may need and still leaves extra space to squeeze in a water bottle, a cardigan if I get too hot or a magazine. Now lately I've been running around with a rather modestly-sized (by my standards) cross-body bag and it surely has it benefits, but recently I found myself falling deeply in love with the SHOPPER bags. Fact is I've never had a bag exactly like a shopper, also most of them are also supplied with an extra strap for cross-body wearing and of course, the allure of space inside is so hard to resist. The color-blocking shoppers by the Greek brand Fullah Sugah and the classy brown one from ASOS are among my top choices.

STYLE OBSESSION: Allegiance to the flag

In general, wearing a country's flag should be seen as an indication of the person's patriotism, however it's been long since American and British flags have become a symbol of the free-spirited, rebellious styles that were born in those countries and then spread across the globe. Flag prints seem especially hot this season - even Balmain included a number of American flag-printed tops into its wild spring collection. So I believe a printed-top such as the one from Zara or ASOS, shorts from Topshop and a pair of American flag Converse could fit in my casual summer wardrobe just fine!

STYLE OBSESSION: Head scarves

I have never felt comfortable wearing things on my head - at least not since I became seriously self-conscious about my look. I felt that no hats looked good on me, plus they always messed up my hair. Same went for all sorts of scarves and since I have been wearing a fringe since 14, hair bands seemed to not sit right either. But I'm stubborn, ready to experiment and since I kind of adore this latest head scarf trend I'm willing to give it a chance. I'm not exactly a vintage fan, but I love the retro appeal of the scarf worn as a band - I'd combine it with a cropped tee, a lingerie-style top or my denim shirt.

STYLE OBSESSION: Leather cuff bracelets

I haven't worn leather cuffs since my punk-rock-chick phase some years ago, rejecting them as something I've "overgrown." Yet, the leather cuff bracelets from the recent "Pirates of the Caribbean" line by Hayden-Harnett for Disney (see below) made me realize how I still love this kind of accessories and it's about time to bring them back into my wardrobe - after all I still love to wear an edgy rock-style outfit every now and then... And while Hayden-Harnett is a bit out of my price range, the Topshop cuffs will suit me just fine!

STYLE OBSESSION: Dark florals

I'm not a florals girl in general, but when spring/summer arrives, I get seduced by a floral top or dress every now and then. This season I have my eyes on floral dresses in dark tones such as the ones below. All I need is to add a thin brown belt around my waist - and I've got a cool & casual summer look!

Stripes have always been a love of mine - my wardrobe is choke-full of stripy outfits and I often have to stop myself from buying even more. Yet, I may just HAVE to buy more, since the multi-coloured stripes trend suggested for spring by Marc by Marc Jacobs and Prada is too delicious to resist!
