"Top Kill" Succeeds in Stopping Gulf Coast Oil Gusher

According to the LA Times, Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen has said that the "top kill" effort, which began yesterday, has pumped enough drilling fluid into the well to stop all oil and gas flow.  A small amount of pressure persists, but once that pressure is reduced to zero, cement will be pumped into the well to entomb it. 

Let's hope this succeeds.
