Newt Gets Glittered
This guy is lucky he didn't get arrested. Watch to the very end when Newt's henchman gets seriously creepy:

Newty Newt is Running
Presumably he'll call a moratorium on committing adultery with his secretaries for the duration of the race.

Quote of the Day
"He could have been president. But when you try and change your history too much, and try and recolor it because you don't like the way it was or you want it to be different to prove something new ... you lose touch with who you really are. You lose your way."
--Marianne Gingrich, one of Newt's ex-wives.

Quote of the Day
"Somebody just made a hypocrisy boom-boom in their diaper."
--Joe Jervis of Joe.My.God, blogging about Sen. David Vitter signing the Tea Party Patriots Morality Pledge in which he promised to conduct himself "personally and professionally in a moral and socially appropriate manner." Is playing out your diaper fetish with prostitutes considered "socially appropriate" in New Orleans?

GA GOP Candidate for Gov. Opposes Gay Adoption, Marriage, Civil Unions. Can't Explain Why
Watch former Georgia Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Karen Handel react badly to questions about gay issues. It gets particularly interesting when she's asked why she believes marriage should be between one man and one woman. She's apparently never had to question her dogmatic beliefs and clearly has no idea what to say. Keep watching as she awkwardly avoids a question about single parents as a "nuance." At the end, she is absolutely unable to answer why she doesn't believe gays should adopt.
"Because I don't." I picture Lucy Van Pelt folding her arms in a huff.
Maybe her "beliefs" are so paper-thin because she used to be somewhat moderate on gay issues. Now that she wants to be governor, she's become a hard liner.

Republican National Committee Drops Wad at Fake Lesbian Bondage Club
This has to be my favorite story of the decade. According to Federal Election Commission filings, the Republican National Committee spent has spent a fortune on lavish living including private jets and luxury hotels such as the Beverly Wilshire. Then, there's this tidbit:
"The Republican National Committee gave nearly $2,000 to a Southern California GOP contributor for meal expenses at Voyeur West Hollywood, a lesbian-themed California nightclub that features topless dancers wearing horse-bits and other bondage gear, according to newly filed disclosure records."
Women in horsebits. You can't make this stuff up.
"Voyeur West Hollywood has garnered attention in Los Angeles for its risque and outrageous theme since opening last fall, attracting celebrities such as Lindsey Lohan and Leonardo DiCaprio. A Los Angeles Times article said the club had a "dark, leather-heavy interior" that was "reminiscent of the masked orgy scene" from the movie "Eyes Wide Shut" and includes "impromptu bondage and S&M 'scenes' being played out on an elevated platform by scantily clad performers." Opening night included one woman "with a horse's bit in her mouth...strapped to the wall by another," the article said."
Apparently Voyeur features topless ladies simulating lesbian sex. I suppose it's OK as long as they don't simulate lesbian weddings.
