This is When You Know It's Time to Quit

A person takes a smoke break in downtown Chicago in the aftermath of the 3rd biggest snowstorm in the city's history.  Chicago is experiencing 50 MPH wind gusts and a "wind chill advisory."  You gotta really want a cig.

Spring Snowpocalypse

Friday night, Wes and I met a friend for dinner outdoors at La Duni.  It was a beautiful spring evening.  All the bulbs and trees were in bloom.  The Bradford pears have been gorgeous this year.  Dallas Blooms has started at the arboretum.  Then, yesterday turned cold and rainy and look at what we woke up to this morning.  It's not a lot of snow, but it broke the record for this day.  This picture doesn't convey the wind and biting cold.  Dallas typically gets about one winter weather event a year.  This year has been like living in Saskatchewan.  The good news is it's supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow.  Just in time for the work week.

It's a White Christmas in Dallas!

Al Gore was right! This is the first white Christmas in Dallas since the National Weather Service started keeping records. Meanwhile, the presents have been opened, Wes is in a post-Cinnamon roll sugar haze and Dad is trying to figure out if any Republican traitors voted for health care reform. Oh yeah, the turkey's still frozen. Merry Christmas!
