Dixie Carter's Cause of Death Revealed

The actress died of endometrial cancer on Saturday in Houston.  She had been a patient at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.  Endometrial cancer is cancer of the wall lining of the uterus and is highly curable if caught in time.  Sadly, hers was not.

She was a great Southern lady who never forgot her Tennessee roots.  In fact, she and Hal Holbrook maintained a home in her home town of McLemoresville and spent a great deal of time there.  She compared it to the back-stabbing of Hollywood and said:

“Of course in the South we talk about people too,” she said. “But if you end your comments with ‘Bless her heart,’ you’re off the hook.”

Bless her heart.
