Park Your Toyota

On the heels of a recall of a gazillion Toyota and Lexus models over deadly sticking accelerator pedals, the National Transportation Safety Administration is now looking into complaints about breaks on the 2010 Prius.  Apparently a Prius can experience a temporary loss of breaking power on bumpy or slippery surfaces, in other words, exactly when you need complete control of the car.  Prius is Toyota's marquee car, symbolic of the company's quality and advanced technology.  Just don't drive it over a bump.

Interestingly, the Tacoma pick-up truck was not included in the sticking-pedal recall even though there have been reports of sticking pedals in those vehicles as well.

Last year, I bought a lovely pre-owned Infiniti.  Pretty, huh?

A few months later, a close friend bought a pre-owned Lexus.  The Lexus was gorgeous and seemed more luxurious than the Infiniti.  I felt a twinge of jealousy.  Not any more.
