Washington, DC mayor Adrian Fenty, who signed the DC marriage equality bill into law, has lost his bid for the Democratic nomination to City Council Chairman Vince Gray. Fenty blamed his image problems on unpopular decisions he had to make to improve the city. The Democratic primary is tantamount to the general election in DC. The Republicans aren't even fielding a candidate.
Gray has strong pro-gay rights credentials and has been endorsed by the Gertrude Stein Democratic Club, a gay organization.
