What better way to celebrate American Independence than getting hammered with America's greatest invention, the cocktail? OK, I have no idea if the cocktail was invented in America, but it was certainly perfected here during prohibition when bartenders had to add mixers to hide the horrible taste of the hootch. What cocktail do I recommend today? The one that honors America's greatest city, the Manhattan, made with American Rye whiskey. Check out this article by Tony Sachs:
