This is Not Eric Stonestreet on Modern Family
It's Marcus Bachmann, husband of Presidential Candidate Michele Bachmann. He's a self-styled "Christian therapist" who endorses ex-gay therapy. He got his degree from one of the finest mail order universities in Cincinnati. You can't make this up.
You may recall Congresswoman Bachmann hid in the bushes to spy on a gay rights rally at the Minnesota capitol. She also ran screaming and crying after two lesbian constituents dared to ask her a question in a ladies room.
I have found that when someone becomes an anti-gay crusader, there's always a deeply personal reason. Always.

Michele Bachmann to Bring the Spirit of Mass Murder to Campaign Trail
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann announced her candidacy for the Presidency today in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa. With characteristic accuracy and attention to detail, this self-proclaimed "serious" candidate invoked the spirit of a fellow famous person from Waterloo:
John Wayne the actor was not from Waterloo, Iowa. John Wayne Gacy the child killer was from Waterloo, Iowa.

Quote of the Day
"What I love about New Hampshire and what we have in common is our extreme love for liberty. You're the state where the shot was heard around the world at Lexington and Concord."
--Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R, MN), probable presidential candidate and founding fathers fetishist, speaking in New Hampshire. Lexington and Concord are, of course, in Massachusetts.

Reince Priebus!
Get Reince Priebus fever people! Reince Priebus of the Badger State is the new Chairman of the Republican National Committee! Mr. Super Lawyer is in the house! He's on Facebook in a bow tie, so he's like, totally cool and down with the kids! Go Wisconsin-Whitewater! Among his quotes, he has said that someone who is:
"pro-abortion, pro-stimulus, pro-AIG... might not be a Republican."
This Rinse Keebler fella is a laff riot! Of course, there isn't a soul on earth who's "pro-abortion, pro-stimulus, and pro-AIG," but I quibble. Oh, did Mr. "anyone who's pro-stimulus might not be a Republican" mention that he's on his law firm's "Stimulus Legislation Team," which seeks to "identify opportunities, prepare appropriate proposals and make targeted contacts to secure [federal] funds?” So, I guess he's pro-stimulus? Does that make him pro-abortion and pro-AIG, too? OMG, Prance Wiener is a Democrat!!!
Here's a shock, the Republican National Committee has elected an anti-gay ideologue as Chairman! I'll bet you didn't see that one coming.
Here is Crank Rebus kissing up to Maggie Gallagher and reciting the party line that marriage is a gift from God and must be protected from the gays:
Farewell Michael Steele. The bondage clubs of West Hollywood will miss you.

Was Paladino in the Gay Bar Business?
The Carl Paladino story gets more bizarre every day. You read about the New York Republican candidate for governor's hideous rant about children being "brainwashed" into becoming "dysfunctional homosexuals." Then he issued a non-apology apology that cannot possibly be reconciled with his statements. Now comes news that this professional landlord collected rent from two gay clubs in Buffalo from 2004-2006. One of the clubs, Cobalt, was run by Paladino's son! The other, Buddies II, operated in another Paladino building in 2005 and 2006.
I guess he's not afraid to make money off "dysfunctional homosexuals," as long as we know our place, which is apparently in one of his gay bars!

Ugly Quote of the Day II
"I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family, and I don't want them brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option--it isn't. There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual. That is not how God created us."
--Carl Paladino, the crude moron who will be governor of New York unless every thinking person in the Empire State gets out and votes. Do you think he's aware of the Bronx gay torture case? Do you think he gives a shit?

Rachel Maddow on Christine O'Donnell
Of all the crackpots running in - and winning - Republican primaries this year, probably the freakiest of them all is Cristine O'Donnell, Republican candidate for the Senate from the great state of Delaware. She's running against long-time Congressman Mike Castle and since he's apparently reality-based, it's a close race. Christine thinks masturbation should be illegal (so much for being a small government candidate), and homosexuality can be cured. In fact, she founded one of those snakeoil "ex-gay" scams called SALT. Here's what Rachel Maddow had to say about Ms. O'D.:

Quote of the Day
"They filmed a building in the poorer section of New York with some broken windows and they said, `Oh, this is how the poor in America lives, but it backfired on them because the Soviet citizens looked at that video closely and they saw flickering color television sets in all those windows."
--Rand Paul, GOP nominee for the Senate from Kentucky, arguing that we shouldn't be such crybabies about poverty because 40 or 50 years ago people in New York tenements had color TV and people in the Soviet Union had to watch black and white. Or something.

Just in Time for the War on Christmas!
Harper Collins has announced that Sarah Palin's next book is coming out November 23. It's to be called "America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag." Gag me.
Why not? The first book made her millions and she didn't even have to write it.

Palin: We're All Teabaggers!
If you can stand it, here's the quitter blaming right-wing violence on the "lamestream media."
