If you watch Fox "News," and I don't, you may have seen promos for Sarah Palin's new special Real American Stories, set to air this Thursday. The show features stories of Americans overcoming adversity or some such shit and was to feature Toby Keith, GE Chairman Jack Welch and LL Cool J. LL Cool J on The Sarah Palin Show? Really? Conservative blogger Allahpundit gloated as follows:
"Frank Rich fans will be shocked to find the alleged Grand Dragon of the tea-party movement making chitchat with a hip-hop legend.."
He's right. This Frank Rich fan was certainly surprised until he found out it wasn't true. Turns out Sarah was never going to interview LL Cool J or even be in the same building. Fox found a 2008 interview the artist gave and stapled it onto Palin's show. Mr. Cool J tweeted:
"Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW."
I know you're as shocked as I am to find Sarah Palin associated with deceptive practices. Fox, caught lying again, yanked his segment and issued the following statement:
"Real American Stories features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith's interview fit that criteria. However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career."
"Fledgling acting career?" Fox "news" hounds are real bitches.
